The Administration for Children's Services (ACS)
Provides community snapshots for NYC that provide detailed information, broken down by district, in the following areas: demographic indicators, abuse/neglect and victimization rates, foster care census and placement information, preventive services enrollment and referral figures, and child care and head start enrollment statistics.
Cause Effective: Nonprofit Resource Development Center
Cause Effective provides management consulting services to non-profits, helping clients to grow stronger and develop the resources they need. Their primary services include fundraising, board governance, and special events.
Citizen's Committee for Children of New York, Inc.
"As New York City's only locally-based, multi-issue child advocacy organization, CCC stands up for children because we know that our future—and the future of our city—depends on it."
Community Resource Exchange (CRE)
A nonprofit social change consulting firm. Informed by deep experience and an intimate knowledge of New York City's communities, CRE helps 300 organizations fight poverty and champion social justice issues each year. CRE works with both emerging organizations and well-established institutions in neighborhoods where resources and opportunities are limited. With CRE's help, nonprofit leaders develop the tools they need to build their organizations and improve the neighborhoods in which they live. TFC is thrilled to work with CRE on our strategic planning process and encourages everyone to learn more about them and their good work.
Foster Care Alumni of America
FCAA is a national non-profit association founded and led by alumni of the foster care system. The mission of FCAA is to connect those who have formerly been in foster care and to transform foster care policy and practice.
Foster Club
The National Network for Youth in Foster Care offers information and activities on pages specific to youth and adults.
The National Resource Center for Family-Centered Practice and Permanency
Planning based at Hunter College School of Social Work provides information related to our clients and families. They offer studies, information, and articles that are relevant for TFC volunteers and stakeholders.
The New York Nonprofit Press
An excellent publication and online resource that is committed to linking thousands of non-profits in New York City. Visit the Web site or subscribe for free emails to read articles, find jobs, learn about different events (many free opportunities), network, etc.
The Nonprofit Coordinating Committee
Provides a wealth of information, trainings, articles, and organizational support to non-profits across New York (including The Fostering Connection). We receive emails, newsletters, grant announcements, recommendations for trainings and consultants, etc.
United Way of NYC
The United Way creates, leads, and supports strategic initiatives that address the root causes of critical human care problems in order to achieve measurable improvement in the lives of the city's most vulnerable residents and communities. Throughout their work, they partner with neighborhood agencies, government, business, foundations, volunteers and others so that collectively we can achieve more than any one organization working alone.

The Door
The Door's mission is to empower young people to reach their potential by providing comprehensive youth development services in a diverse and caring environment. Each year over 8,000 young people, most referred by their peers, come to The Door for primary health care, prenatal care and health education, mental health counseling, legal services, GED, ESL, tutoring and homework help, college preparation and computer classes, career development services and training, job placement, daily meals, arts, sports and recreational activities.
In the Spirit of the Children
For concrete services for youth aging out of foster care, call 212-410-9801. This nonprofit was established to provide daily support services to children, youth and families. They offer a continuum of services to young adults exiting foster care, through their Youth Transition Empowerment Program (YTEP).
Legal Aid Society
An invaluable partner with The Fostering Connection in our efforts to support children and families affected by foster care with high quality mental health services. One of the nation's leading organization in child advocacy, TFC works with juvenile rights staff from all five boroughs to support them and their clients.
NYC Administration of Childrens' Services' Office of Youth Development
Offers a range of programs and services to help young people prepare for adulthood by developing skills and relationships that will last a lifetime. The Office champions youth development and permanency within child welfare in order to strengthen the outcomes of all youth.

Youth Success NYC
Specifically for youth in and after foster care, this site is administered by Represent magazine, which serves as the voice of youth in care. TFC is listed as a featured mental health resource on this page.
